Our well designed NICU is equipped with all the modern equipments such as ventilators, incubators, cardiac monitors, CPAP machine, phototherapy machines to meet the needs of the tiniest and the sickest newborn. All problems which a sick newborn may face such as extreme prematurity, very low birth weight (weight < 1kg), respiratory and cardiac problems, congenital anomalies, surgical emergencies have been faced and successfully treated at the NICU.The department has the capability of transporting the sick babies by means of a transport incubator. There is a 24 hours Ambulance Service to transport such babies from place of delivery to our NICU.Neonatal Intensive care unit is designed for premature or sick infants requiring cardio-respiratory monitoring and care such as oxygen by hood or ventilators, IV drugs through infusion pumps, or any form of surgery.Qualified trained nurses and other professional staff care for the babies at all times. We encourage mothers to continue the process of bonding with the babies even if in NICU and babies continue to be fed if possible with breast milk that has been expressed.
