- Give the baby some diaper-free time. You may try the elimination communication method to train your baby to start using the toilet and make her wear light, cotton underwear instead of diapers. Elimination communication is a way to recognise your little one’s signals to pass stool/urine so that you can take her to the toilet to eliminate body waste. This method works two ways as the baby also gets trained to pass urine/stool when held in a particular position on the toilet bowl.
- Mix a teaspoon of sandalwood powder and a pinch of turmeric in cool filtered water to make a thin paste. This paste can be applied on heat rashes and insect bites for instant relief.
- Try an ice cube if you cannot find anything to soothe your baby’s discomfort. Ice cubes can come in handy to soothe prickly heat, eczema, and also insect bites.
- Reposition the baby when she is sleeping, and don’t let her lie down in one position for long as it can lead to heat rashes during summers.
